Lordly Lessons

"Behold, God exalteth by His power: who teacheth like Him?.... God thundereth marvelously with His voice; great things doeth He, which we cannot comprehend.... Stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God" (Job 36:22, 37:4,14). "The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the Lord hath made even both of them" (Proverbs 20:12).

Who teaches like God with His marvelous power,
Revealing such wonderful things?
Each star in the heavens and each tender flower
Are lessons of mercy He brings.

The Lord who created our ears and our eyes
Has called us to hear and to see
The truth He is teaching, that we may be wise
And, by our obedience, free.

There's so many things that we can't comprehend;
Such things we could never take in!
But God, through the Gospel of Christ, will extend
The mercy that takes away sin.

O Lord, we consider the lessons You teach
By which You unveil Your love,
Amazed above all by Your infinite reach
That sent Jesus Christ from above!
