Strong to Save

Read:  Psalm 49 / Proverbs 31 / Numbers 34 / 2 Tim. 2

Psalm 49:15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

Proverbs 31:8 Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

Numbers 34:29 These are they whom the LORD commanded to divide the inheritance unto the children of Israel.

1 Timothy 2:5,6 Christ Jesus… gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

By Jesus Christ I am redeemed;

He shall receive me from the grave.

When all was hopeless (so it seemed),

I found that He was strong to save.

By Christ, my great heroic Savior,

My ransom has been paid in full.

I have inherited His favor,

For Jesus died to save my soul.

Pure Prophetic Proof

Read:  Psalm 48 / Proverbs 30 / Numbers 33 / 2 Tim. 1

Psalm 48:3 God is known in her palaces for a refuge.

Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Numbers 33:4 For the Egyptians buried all their firstborn, which the LORD had smitten among them: upon their gods also the LORD executed judgments.

2 Timothy 1:7 God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

The Lord makes known His reputation:

He is our everlasting Shield.

By Him alone we have salvation,

And by His stripes we have been healed.

The gods of Egypt all were smitten,

Foretold and found to be a fraud.

God's pure, prophetic words are written

With proof that we may trust in God.

So-Called Science

Read:  Psalm 47 / Proverbs 29 / Numbers 32 / 1 Tim. 6

Psalm 47:7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Numbers 32:23 If ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.

Timothy 6:20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding… oppositions of science falsely so called.

Let praise arise to God our King

With understanding that He gives.

To Christ our Maker, let us sing,

Who died, who rose, and ever lives.

Let evidence remove all doubt

And, in the Lord, give firm reliance.

Their fatal sin shall find them out

Who lie by falsely so-called science.

Steadied in Stillness

Read:  Psalm 46 / Proverbs 28 / Numbers 31 / 1 Tim. 5

Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Proverbs 28:14 Happy is the man that feareth [the Lord] alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.

Numbers 31:8,49 They slew the kings of Midian… Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword… And they said unto Moses… There lacketh not one man of us.

1 Timothy 5:21 I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ… that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.

We hear the Lord express His will;

Let every other sound be halted

As He commands us to be still

And know that He shall be exalted.

Be steadied now by godly fear;

Be not like Balaam, led by greed.

Be still and know that God is near

To guide, to guard, to love, and lead.

Far Fairer

Read:  Psalm 45 / Proverbs 27 / Numbers 30 / 1 Tim. 4

Psalm 45:2-11 Thou art fairer than the children of men…  Hearken… Incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house; So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.

Proverbs 27:11 My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that reproacheth me.

Numbers 30:2 If a man vow a vow unto the LORD… he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.

1 Timothy 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

The greatest heroes earth can call

Cannot compare with Christ our Lord.

He is far fairer than them all

In every time and place explored.

His heart is glad when we are wise;

What tender care!  What wondrous love!

Let us be done with compromise

And set our hearts on Christ above.

Merciful and Marvelous

Read:  Psalm 44 / Proverbs 26 / Numbers 29 / 1 Tim. 3

Psalm 44:8 In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah.

Proverbs 26:2 The curse causeless shall not come.

Numbers 29:7,8 And ye shall have on the tenth day of this seventh month… ye shall not do any work therein: But ye shall offer a burnt offering unto the LORD for a sweet savor.

1 Timothy 3:16 God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

In God we’re boasting all day long

Because He bore the curse for us.

We praise the Savior in our song,

So merciful and marvelous!

No one but Jesus could atone

For souls so lost, for whom He died.

We boast in Christ our Lord alone

By whom we have been justified.

Cross of Christ

Read:  Psalm 43 / Proverbs 25 / Numbers 28 / 1 Tim. 2

Psalm 43:3,4 O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me… bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles. Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.

Proverbs 25:13,25 As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him… As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.

Numbers 28:16,17,26 And in the fourteenth day of the first month is the Passover of the LORD. And in the fifteenth day of this month is the feast… Also in the day of the firstfruits.

1 Timothy 2:3,4 God our Savior… will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

God’s truth has led us to His hill

And brought us to the cross of Christ

Where Jesus did the Father’s will

When He for us was sacrificed.

Prophetic scenes within each feast

Portray our great Redeemer’s favor

As we behold Him as our Priest

And magnify Him as our Savior.

Case for Christ

Read:  Psalm 42 / Proverbs 24 / Numbers 27 / 1 Tim. 1

Psalm 42:1 [Title] For the SONS OF KORAH. As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.

Proverbs 24:21-22 My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change: For their calamity shall rise… and who knoweth the ruin of them both?

Numbers 27:3 Our father died in the wilderness, and he was not in the company of them that gathered themselves together against the LORD in the company of Korah.

1 Timothy 1:19 Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck.

Though Korah’s heart toward God had changed,

His children’s trust remained the same.

How kindly, therefore, God arranged

To give us psalms that bear their name.

By grace through faith with evidence,

We’re kept from Korah’s great mistake.

The reasons for our confidence

Support the case for Christ we make.

Favor of my Father

Read:  Psalm 41 / Proverbs 23 / Numbers 26 / 2 Thes. 3

Psalm 41:11,12 By this I know that thou favorest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me. And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face forever.

Proverbs 23:15-17,19,26 My son… be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long… Hear thou, my son, and be wise, and guide thine heart in the way… My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.

Numbers 26:10,11 And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah… and they became a sign… Notwithstanding the children of Korah died not.

2 Thessalonians 3:3-5 The Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil... And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

By this I know God favors me:

My enemy has not prevailed.

I’ve seen my Lord’s integrity;

His promises have never failed.

The sons of Korah did not die

Because they trusted God alone.

To God my Father I will cry,

And He will make His favor known.

Prophetic Praise

Read:  Psalm 40 / Proverbs 22 / Numbers 25 / 2 Thes. 2

Psalm 40:6-8 Sacrifice and offering Thou didst not desire… burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required. Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of Me… I delight to do Thy will… yea, Thy law is within My heart.

Proverbs 22:20,21 Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge, That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?

Numbers 25:11,12 Phinehas… hath turned my wrath away…  zealous for my sake… I give unto him my covenant of peace.

2 Thessalonians 2:10,11 They received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.

Our Savior’s great prophetic voice

(A thousand years before He came)

Declared that He had made the choice

To die for us!  O praise His name!

Should not His covenant of peace

Renew the zeal of our youth?

Beware!  Delusion shall increase

For those who do not love the truth.

Christ is Crucial

Read:  Psalm 39 / Proverbs 21 / Numbers 24 / 2 Thes. 1

Psalm 39:6-13 Surely every man walketh in a vain show…  now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee… O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go hence.

Proverbs 21:29 A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way.

Numbers 24:17,19 I shall see him, but not now… there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel… Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion.

2 Thessalonians 1:11 We pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:

What purpose are we living for,

If not for glorifying Christ?

What is the point, if we ignore

That He for us was sacrificed?

The Star of Jacob shall return;

His Scepter then shall rise to reign.

Yet NOW it’s crucial to discern:

We live for Christ, or life is vain.

Remedy Revealed

Read:  Psalm 38 / Proverbs 20 / Numbers 23 / 1 Thes. 5

Psalm 38:9,22 Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee… Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.

Proverbs 20:12,27 The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them… The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts.

Numbers 23:19,21 God is not a man, that he should lie… hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?... He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob… the LORD his God is with him.

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 I pray God your whole spirit… soul and body be preserved… unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

The Lord has heard our strong desire;

We’ve heard His answer to our hearts.

There is no wisdom that is higher;

He searches all our inward parts.

Christ’s remedy has been revealed

By which He has removed our sin,

For by His stripes our souls are healed

The moment Jesus enters in.

Confidence in His Counsel

Read:  Psalm 37 / Proverbs 19 / Numbers 22 / 1 Thes. 4

Psalm 37:4,5 Delight thyself also in the LORD…  Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also… and he shall bring it to pass.

Proverbs 19:21 There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless, the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.

Numbers 22:38 And Balaam said unto Balak… The word that God putteth in my mouth, that shall I speak.

1 Thessalonians 4:2,18 For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus… Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Delight yourself in Christ the Lord;

Commit your way to Him as well.

Your trust in Him He will reward,

And in His presence, you will dwell.

His Word shall be your confidence

With counsel that forever stands.

His truth shall be your strong defense

That comforts you with His commands.

Portraying our Purging

Read:  Psalm 36 / Proverbs 18 / Numbers 21 / 1 Thes. 3

Psalm 36:9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

Proverbs 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

Numbers 21:9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

1 Thessalonians 3:13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God.

God’s fountain springs with purging power;

His light is shining from above;

His name portrays a mighty tower;

His Word communicates His love.

As Moses lifted up the pole

Portraying judgment on the cross,

We see the grace that makes us whole

Through Christ who purged our sins as dross.

Comfort and Correction

Read:  Psalm 35 / Proverbs 17 / Numbers 20 / 1 Thes. 2

Psalm 35:3,22 Say unto my soul, I am thy Salvation… O LORD: keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me.

Proverbs 17:17 A Friend loveth at all times, and a Brother is born for adversity.

Numbers 20:10-24 Moses… said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?...  And the LORD spake unto Moses… Ye rebelled against My word.

1 Thessalonians 2:4 But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the Gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.

I need to hear what God will say

To comfort and correct my heart.

Sometimes I’m prone to go astray,

Yet as a Friend, He won’t depart.

Because I am allowed to speak

The Gospel that proclaims His love,

He tries my heart that I may seek

His perfect wisdom from above.
