Declare our Defense

Read:  Psalm 7 / Proverbs 31 / Hosea 5 / Revelation 7

Psalm 7:10 My defense is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.

Proverbs 31:8 Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

Hosea 5:4 They will not frame their doings to turn unto their God: for… they have not known the LORD.

Revelation 7:17 The Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

Let us declare with confidence

To souls endangered by seduction

That Jesus Christ is our Defense,

Who has redeemed us from destruction.

Our declaration may be scorned,

And our defense may be derided,

Yet sinners nonetheless are warned

That destinies are thus decided.

Resource to Reach

Read:  Psalm 6 / Proverbs 30 / Hosea 4 / Revelation 6

Psalm 6:8 Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping.

Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

Revelation 6:17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

The Lord has heard our weeping voice,

And by His stripes we have been healed!

Praise God, who gives to us the choice

To trust in Christ who is our Shield!

Let every resource be employed

To reach the lost while yet we may!

For lack of truth they are destroyed

As they approach their judgment day!

Vision of the Victory

Read:  Psalm 5 / Proverbs 29 / Hosea 3 / Revelation 5

Psalm 5:3,8 I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up… Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.

Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Hosea 3:4,5 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king… a prince… a sacrifice… an image… ephod… teraphim: afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God… in the latter days.

Revelation 5:12 Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing.

I’m looking up with prayer each morning

That God may lead me with His vision.

There is no wisdom in the scorning

Of sinners in their blind derision.

I’m looking at the victory

Of Jesus in the latter days

When He fulfills the prophecy

That fills the nations with His praise!

Salvation vs. Separation

Read:  Psalm 4 / Proverbs 28 / Hosea 2 / Revelation 4

Psalm 4:3 But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.

Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

Hosea 2:23 I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.

Revelation 4:10,11 The four and twenty elders… cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

There is a dreadful separation

From God created by our sin

Which Christ removes by His salvation

When sinners choose to let Him in.

The joyful sound that we repeat

Is sung by saints around His throne

Who cast their crowns at Jesus’ feet

To magnify His name alone!

Today vs. Tomorrow

Read:  Psalm 3 / Proverbs 27 / Hosea 1 / Revelation 3

Psalm 3:8 Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.

Proverbs 27:1 Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

Hosea 1:10 Where it was said… Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.

Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.

Salvation comes from God alone,

Regardless of what others say,

And since tomorrow is not known,

We’re called to trust the Lord today.

How instant is the transformation

That saves a soul forevermore

When Christ imparts His great salvation:

Behold!  He’s knocking at the door!

Kiss the King

Read:  Psalm 2 / Proverbs 26 / Daniel 12 / Revelation 2

Psalm 2:6,12 Yet have I set my King upon my holy hill of Zion… Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Proverbs 26:2 The curse causeless shall not come.

Daniel 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Revelation 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews… but are the synagogue of Satan.

We worship and we kiss the Son;

We love the King who loved us first!

There is no other name, not one,

Whereby the Lord can bless the cursed!

The Lord has called us to be wise

And be like stars that shine at night

As we expose Satanic lies

And show the lost His Gospel light.

Wind vs. Word

Read:  Psalm 1 / Proverbs 25 / Daniel 11 / Revelation 1

Psalm 1:1-4 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly… But his delight is in the law of the Lord… The ungodly are… like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

Proverbs 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.

Daniel 11:2 And now will I shew thee the truth.

Revelation 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

Consider the alternative:

Unlike the chaff that wind will scatter,

God’s Word instructs us how to live

When we are searching out a matter.

In Daniel and in Revelation,

We search God’s Word and understand

Prophetic truths of tribulation

As their fulfillment is at hand.

Breath to Build

Read:  Psalm 150 / Proverbs 24 / Daniel 10 / Jude 1

Psalm 150:6 Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

Proverbs 24:27 Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house.

Daniel 10:19 O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong… I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.

Jude 20-21 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

As long as God shall give us breath,

Let us perform what He has willed.

The time is short before our death;

Let us arise and wisely build.

The Lord imparts to us His grace

With strength to do His will each day.

Until we see Him face to face,

Let us be building as we pray.

Teach the Truth

Read:  Psalm 149 / Proverbs 23 / Daniel 9 / 3 John 1

Psalm 149:6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand.

Proverbs 23:26 My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.

Daniel 9:22-26 I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding… Know therefore and understand… threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself.

3 John 8 We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellowhelpers to the truth.

The Spirit’s sword is in our hand

And in our mouth, the songs of praise.

We’re following our Lord’s command

As we observe His wondrous ways.

As fellow helpers of the truth,

Let us be ready to defend

The Word of God to teach our youth

With evidence they comprehend.

Beyond the Borders

Read:  Psalm 148 / Proverbs 22 / Daniel 8 / 2 John 1

Psalm 148:4-6 Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens... he commanded, and they were created… he hath made a decree which shall not pass.

Proverbs 22:20-21 Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge, that I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?

Daniel 8:25 Through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall stand… against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

2 John 7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

Beyond the stars in outer space

Are waters we have not explored.

By God’s command they’re held in place

To praise and magnify the Lord.

Beyond the borders of our vision,

Deceivers work with dark deceit.

The Lord shall have them in derision

When they are brought beneath His feet.

Infinite Intellect

Read:  Psalm 147 / Proverbs 21 / Daniel 7 / 1 John 5

Psalm 147:5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

Proverbs 21:30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.

Daniel 7:22,27 The Ancient of days came…whose kingdom is… everlasting, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

How great is Jesus our Creator;

His intellect is infinite!

In all the cosmos, none is greater,

Since He, in fact, created it!

His intellect, from ancient days,

Foresaw His future exaltation,

Yet we exalt Him now with praise

And gratitude for our salvation.

Able Also

Read:  Psalm 146 / Proverbs 20 / Daniel 6 / 1 John 4

Psalm 146:5,6 Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD… which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all… therein… which keepeth truth forever.

Proverbs 20:9 Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?

Daniel 6:20 O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest… able to deliver thee from the lions?

1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them… greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

The Lord who made the stars above,

The earth, the sea, and all therein,

Is able also by His grace

To purify us from our sin.

As Daniel in the lions’ den

Was trusting then in his Creator,

The Lord delivers now, as then,

From every foe, for He is greater!

Mercy Measured

Read:  Psalm 145 / Proverbs 19 / Daniel 5 / 1 John 3

Psalm 145:3 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

Proverbs 19:23 The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

Daniel 5:27 Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.

1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

God’s greatness is unsearchable!

His mercy measured end to end

That bridged the gulf to save our soul

Is far more than we comprehend.

Though we fall short, the Lord does not.

Behold the manner of His love,

Beyond the grasp of human thought,

Which brought our Savior from above!

Reason Returned

Read:  Psalm 144 / Proverbs 18 / Daniel 4 / 1 John 2

Psalm 144:15 Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.

Proverbs 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

Daniel 4:36 My reason returned unto me… Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.

1 John 2:1-2 If any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous… the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for… the whole world.

God’s happy people have good reason

To sing of His amazing grace

Which God extends in every season

To everyone in every place.

The king of Babylon was wise

With joy when reason had returned,

For God had opened then his eyes

To praise the Lord by what he learned.
