The Lion is The Lamb

Read:  Psalm 72 / Proverbs 31 / Isaiah 18 / Mark 15

Psalm 72:8-11 ~ He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth… his enemies shall lick the dust. The kings… shall bring presents… Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.

Proverbs 31:3 ~ Give not… thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

Proverbs 31:8 ~ Open thy mouth… in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

Isaiah 18:7 ~ In that time shall the present be brought unto the LORD of hosts… to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the mount Zion.

Mark 15:37 ~ Jesus… with a loud voice and gave up the ghost.

The enemies of Jesus Christ,

When He returns, shall lick the dust.

They mocked the Lord they sacrificed,

In whom they should have put their trust.

The Lord shall come to rule in Zion;

The Church shall be His joyful bride.

We’ll hear Him roar as Judah’s Lion;

We’ll see the Lamb who for us died.

Growing Gray

Read:  Psalm 71 / Proverbs 30 / Isaiah 17 / Mark 14

Psalm 71:18 ~ Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.

Proverbs 30:12 ~ There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.

Isaiah 17:7 ~ At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel.

Mark 14:6-8 ~ Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me… She hath done what she could.

Though I am old and growing gray,

I’m called to tell this generation

That Jesus Christ is still the Way,

The Truth, and Life of our salvation.

I’ll show that Christ is our Creator.

I’ll make His Gospel understood.

I would be faithful so that later

I’ll know I served Him while I could.

Perfection of His Protection

Read:  Psalm 70 / Proverbs 29 / Isaiah 16 / Mark 13

Psalm 70:4 ~ Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified.

Proverbs 29:25 ~ The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

Isaiah 16:14 ~ But now the LORD hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of an hireling, and the glory of Moab shall be contemned… shall be very small and feeble.

Mark 13:31 ~ Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

We magnify the Lord’s perfection

For His salvation and His care.

The fear of God shall bring protection;

The fear of man shall bring a snare.

We are assured that God has spoken;

His prophecies are on display,

And not one promise has been broken.

His words shall never pass away.

Saving Path for Sinners Provided

Read:  Psalm 69 / Proverbs 28 / Isaiah 15 / Mark 12

Psalm 69:4 ~ They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head… they… mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.

Proverbs 28:5 ~ Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.

Isaiah 15:4 ~ Moab… life shall be grievous unto him.

Mark 12:10,11 ~ Have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner: This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?

Consider that Jesus restored

The things which He took not away.

His life on the cross was outpoured

For us who like sheep went astray.

The judgment of God is expected,

Yet He has provided a path

Through Jesus, whom sinners rejected,

To graciously save us from wrath.

Purpose Planned

Read:  Psalm 68 / Proverbs 27 / Isaiah 14 / Mark 11

Psalm 68:19 ~ Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.

Proverbs 27:1 ~ Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

Isaiah 14:24 ~ The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand.

Mark 11:22 ~ Jesus answering saith… Have faith in God.

Have faith in God, while yet you may.

Tomorrow’s plans may be forsaken.

Have faith, while it is called Today

Lest you regret procrastination.

The Lord of hosts has sworn in truth:

As He has purposed, it shall stand.

So let us wisely teach our youth

That God will do what He has planned.

Cause for Condemnation

Read:  Psalm 67 / Proverbs 26 / Isaiah 13 / Mark 10

Psalm 67:1,2 ~ God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah. That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.

Proverbs 26:2,27 ~ The curse causeless shall not come… Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein.

Isaiah 13:11 ~ I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and… lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

Mark 10:45 ~ Even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

There is a cause for condemnation;

There is a cure for sin as well.

The Savior died for our salvation,

But still the proud make light of hell.

Yet arrogance at last shall end

When Christ shall judge by righteous laws.

His enemies shall comprehend

That condemnation has a cause.

Declare what He has Done

Read:  Psalm 66 / Proverbs 25 / Isaiah 12 / Mark 9

Psalm 66:5,16 ~ Come and see… Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.

Proverbs 25:25 ~ As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.

Isaiah 12:4 ~ Praise the LORD… declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.

Mark 9:31 ~ This is my beloved Son: hear him… The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.

Let us declare the invitation

So that the lost may come and see

And hear the Good News of salvation,

The Gospel truth that makes us free.

Let us declare what God has done,

Fulfilling what the prophets said

When God gave His beloved Son

Who rose, as promised, from the dead.

Providing our Purging

Read:  Psalm 65 / Proverbs 24 / Isaiah 11 / Mark 8

Psalm 65:2,3 ~ O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come. Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away.

Proverbs 24:16 ~ For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

Isaiah 11:10 ~ And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

Mark 8:31 ~ The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected… and be killed, and after three days rise again.

Before we ever thought to pray,

The Lord provided for the cost

To purge iniquities away

And pay the ransom for the lost.

How rightly, then, we seek the face

Of Christ whose rest is glorious!

In Him alone is saving grace

Because He died and rose for us.

Humble Heart

Read:  Psalm 64 / Proverbs 23 / Isaiah 10 / Mark 7

Psalm 64:1 ~ Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

Proverbs 23:26 ~ My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.

Isaiah 10:22 ~ For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return.

Mark 7:37 ~ He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

The Lord has heard the humble heart

That cries for His preserving grace.

He promised He will not depart;

In Christ we’ve found our Hiding Place.

Though multitudes are as the sand,

The meek alone are saved from hell,

For Christ-rejecters shall not stand,

Though Jesus died for them as well.

Woo and Warn

Read:  Psalm 63 / Proverbs 22 / Isaiah 9 / Mark 6

Psalm 63:1 ~ O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is.

Proverbs 22:12,20 ~ The eyes of the LORD preserve knowledge, and he overthroweth the words of the transgressor… Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge?

Isaiah 9:6 ~ For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Mark 6:7,12 ~ He called unto him the twelve… to send them forth… They went out, and preached that men should repent.

This barren land cannot provide

A well to quench the sinner’s thirst,

For judgment must be satisfied

To rescue and redeem the cursed.

Yet unto us a Child is born;

A Savior to our world was sent!

We’re called, therefore, to woo and warn

The lost to seek Him and repent.

To Tell The Truth

Read:  Psalm 62 / Proverbs 21 / Isaiah 8 / Mark 5

Psalm 62:8 ~ Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Proverbs 21:31 ~ The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.

Isaiah 8:20 ~ To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

Mark 5:19 ~ Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

Our hearts are prayerfully outpoured

To Christ who gives to us His peace.

We find our refuge in the Lord,

Though every other hope shall cease.

Remember Jesus fought our fight

When no one loved us in this fashion.

His Word equips us with His light

To tell the truth of His compassion.
