Separation by Salvation

Read:  Psalm 81 / Proverbs 28 / Exodus 26 / 2 Corinthians 6

Psalm 81:16 ~ He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.

Proverbs 28:25 ~ He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.

Exodus 26:33-34 ~ The veil shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy.  And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy place.

2 Corinthians 6:2,17 ~ Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation... Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

Why would we look for satisfaction

In things that soon will turn to dust?

At best, they serve as a distraction;

At worst, they shall betray our trust!

The Lord has torn away the veil,

And He has made a separation.

The gates of hell shall not prevail

Against His church and His salvation.

Champion between the Cherubim

Read:  Psalm 80 / Proverbs 27 / Exodus 25 / 2 Corinthians 5

Psalm 80:1,19 ~ Thou that dwellest between the cherubim, shine forth... Let Thy hand be upon the Man of thy right hand, upon the Son of Man whom thou madest strong for Thyself.

Proverbs 27:11,23 ~ My son, be wise, and make my heart glad...  Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks.

Exodus 25:22 ~ And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim... of all things which I will give thee.

2 Corinthians 5:21 ~ He hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Behold the throne of Elohim:

Our Champion is seated there!

He dwells between the cherubim;

He intercedes for us with prayer.

Behold Him at the mercy seat

Where cherubim are face to face.

He bids us there with Him to meet

As He displays His truth and grace.

Cursed for the Cost

Read:  Psalm 79 / Proverbs 26 / Exodus 24 / 2 Corinthians 4

Psalm 79:9 ~ Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake.

Proverbs 26:2 ~ The curse causeless shall not come.

Exodus 24:8 ~ And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 ~ If our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Our Lord and Helper, Jesus Christ,

To purge our sins, for us was cursed.

For this cause, He was sacrificed;

We love Him for He loved us first!

As we consider what He did

To thereby pay redemption’s cost,

How can we let His truth be hid?

We are compelled to tell the lost!

Gloom to Glory

Read:  Psalm 78 / Proverbs 25 / Exodus 23 / 2 Corinthians 3

Psalm 78:70-72 ~ He chose David also his servant... So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.

Proverbs 25:2 ~ It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.

Exodus 23:20 ~ Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.

2 Corinthians 3:18 ~ But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Our way which had begun with gloom

Was growing darker on our path

As we were marching to the tomb

And afterward would face God's wrath.

But God has changed our gloom to glory

As we have sought our Savior’s face,

And now we tell His great love story

As we reflect His saving grace.

Time to Talk

Read:  Psalm 77 / Proverbs 24 / Exodus 22 / 2 Corinthians 2

Psalm 77:12 ~ I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.

Proverbs 24:14 ~ So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

Exodus 22:27,31 ~ I will hear; for I am gracious... and ye shall be holy men unto me.

2 Corinthians 2:14 ~ Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savor of his knowledge by us in every place.

It's time to talk about the things

That matter most eternally.

The message of the Gospel brings

Salvation's truth that makes us free.

Give thanks to God for what Christ did

To make Himself our Hiding Place.

Why should His Gospel now be hid?

It's time to talk about His grace!

Exploring the Excellent

Read:  Psalm 76 / Proverbs 23 / Exodus 21 / 2 Corinthians 1

Psalm 76:4 ~ Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.

Proverbs 23 26 ~ My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.

Exodus 21:5-6 ~ And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master... he shall serve him forever.

2 Corinthians 1:3 ~ Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort.

The mountains may be glorious,

But Jesus Christ is so much more.

Behold my Lord victorious,

Whose lovingkindness I explore!

How excellent His mercy is

That draws my heart with love Divine!

It comforts me to know I'm His

And that forever He is mine.

Judge and Justifier

Read:  Psalm 75 / Proverbs 22 / Exodus 20 / 1 Corinthians 16

Psalm 75:7,8 ~ God is the Judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another... In the hand of the LORD there is a cup.

Proverbs 22:3 ~ A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.

Exodus 20:3 ~ Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.

1 Corinthians 16:22 ~ If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.

My God is Judge; no one is higher.

He puts down one; He sets one up.

Yet He became my Justifier

When Jesus drank my bitter cup.

The first commandment of the Law

Forbidding all idolatry

Instructs my heart to stand in awe

Of Christ my God who died for me!

Stay Steadfast

Read:  Psalm 74 / Proverbs 21 / Exodus 19 / 1 Corinthians 15

Psalm 74:12,23 ~ God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth... The tumult of those that rise up against thee increaseth continually.

Proverbs 21:29-31 ~ A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way. There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD. The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.

Exodus 19:4 ~ Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself.

1 Corinthians 15:58 ~ Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord... ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

The day is coming when, at last,

We shall be changed forevermore.

The rising tumult shall be passed

Against our Lord whom we adore.

Stay steadfast and unmovable;

We shall be brought on eagles' wings

To dwell with Christ; how wonderful!

Till then, be done with lesser things!

Guiding my Goings

Read:  Psalm 73 / Proverbs 20 / Exodus 18 / 1 Corinthians 14

Psalm 73:24 ~ Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

Proverbs 20:24 ~ Man's goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?

Exodus 18:23 ~ If thou shalt do this thing, and God command thee so, then thou shalt be able to endure.

1 Corinthians 14:33 ~ For God is not the Author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

The Lord shall guide me every day,

Then up to glory take me up.

My Savior leads me all the way;

His blessings daily fill my cup.

My goings now approach conclusion,

Yet God's great mercy shall not cease.

He's not the Author of confusion,

But of my everlasting peace.

Face to Face

Read:  Psalm 72 / Proverbs 19 / Exodus 17 / 1 Corinthians 13

Psalm 72:6 ~ He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.

Proverbs 19:12 ~ The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favor is as dew upon the grass.

Exodus 17:6 ~ Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink.

1 Corinthians 13:8,12 ~ Charity never faileth... For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

The Lord of glory shall come down

As rain upon the earth with favor.

The King of kings shall wear the crown

To reign as our exalted Savior.

Our Lord shall come down from above

As water in a thirsty place.

We shall recall His wondrous love

When we behold Him face to face.

Mercies vs. Murmurings

Read:  Psalm 71 / Proverbs 18 / Exodus 16 / 1 Corinthians 12

Psalm 71:17-18 ~ O God, thou hast taught me from my youth... now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not until I have showed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to everyone that is to come.

Proverbs 18:15,21 ~ The ear of the wise seeketh knowledge... Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Exodus 16:9 ~ Come near before the LORD: for He hath heard your murmurings.

1 Corinthians 12:18,31 ~ Now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased Him.... and yet show I unto you a more excellent way.

The Lord who taught me from my youth

Will not forsake me when I'm old,

That I may magnify His truth

And show His mercies yet untold.

Let murmurings no more be heard;

Let them be silenced in this place

As God reveals by His Word

The love that saved me by His grace.

Tokens of His Triumph

Read:  Psalm 70 / Proverbs 17 / Exodus 15 / 1 Corinthians 11

Psalm 70:4 ~ Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified.

Proverbs 17:17 ~ A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

Exodus 15:2 ~ The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him.

1 Corinthians 11:26 ~ As often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

As often as we eat this bread

We see Christ's body in this token

As we recall that He was led

To death for us, as He had spoken.

As long as we shall drink this cup

That represents His blood outpoured,

Triumphantly our hearts look up

To see our soon returning Lord.

Rod Seen at the Red Sea

Read:  Psalm 69 / Proverbs 16 / Exodus 14 / 1 Corinthians 10

Psalm 69:9,30 ~ The reproaches of them that reproached Thee are fallen upon Me... Magnify Him with thanksgiving.

Proverbs 16:6 ~ By mercy and truth iniquity is purged.

Exodus 14:30,31 ~ Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.  And Israel saw that great work... and the people feared the LORD, and believed the LORD.

1 Corinthians 10:1,2,6 ~ All our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; and were all baptized unto Moses in... in the sea... Now these things were our examples.

When Moses lifted up his rod

The waters of the Red Sea spread.

The people saw the work of God

When all their enemies were dead.

Another rod was then foreseen

When our reproach, like crashing waves,

Fell on our Lord to intervene

And bear the wrath for those He saves.

Publish, Persuade, Preach, Pray

Read:  Psalm 68 / Proverbs 15 / Exodus 13 / 1 Corinthians 9

Psalm 68:11 ~ The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.

Proverbs 15:28 ~ The heart of the righteous studieth to answer.

Exodus 13:8,9 ~ Show thy son in that day, saying, This is done because of that which the LORD did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt... that the LORD'S law may be in thy mouth.

1 Corinthians 9:16,22 ~ Necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel... by all means save some!

The Lord has given us His Word

To publish, to persuade, to preach,

And pray to make the Gospel heard

To every person we may reach.

We preach while sinners yet may come

To seek the Lord and humbly pray,

That we, by all means, may save some

Who turn while it is called TODAY.
