Wiser Workmanship

Read:  Psalm 14 / Proverbs 30 / 1 Chronicles 13 / Ephesians 2

Psalm 14:2,3 The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Proverbs 30:4-5 Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended?... who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name... if thou canst tell? Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
1 Chronicles 13:3,4,10 Let us bring again the ark of our God to us... they would do so: for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people... And the anger of the LORD was kindled.
Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

The wiser counsel of our God
Is always right when we are not.
Care not if men do not applaud,
But seek the wisdom of God’s thought.

We are the work of God’s own hand,
Transforming us in perfect measure.
The workmanship that He has planned
Displays in us His grace and pleasure.

Highest Purpose is His Praise

Read:  Psalm 13 / Proverbs 29 / 1 Chronicles 12 / Ephesians 1

Psalm 13:5,6 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.
Proverbs 29:25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
1 Chronicles 12:32 The children of Issachar... were men that had understanding of the times, to know what... to do.
Ephesians 1:12,18 We should be to the praise of his glory... the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the... glory of his inheritance in the saints.

I trust the mercy of My Savior
In His salvation He displays.
How wondrous is His saving favor!
My highest purpose is His praise!

The Lord will give me understanding
To know the things I ought to do,
As He is graciously commanding
To bring His glory into view.

Savior in Season

Read:  Psalm 12 / Proverbs 28 / 1 Chronicles 11 / Galatians 6

Psalm 12:5 For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him.
Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
1 Chronicles 11:9 So David waxed greater and greater: for the LORD of hosts was with him.
Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

The Lord has heard the needy sighing
And has responded to their prayer.
We hear our Savior testifying
That we may cast on Him our care!

Give thanks to Christ, our great Creator,
The risen Shepherd of His sheep.
With gladness serve Him!  None is greater!
In season, we shall surely reap.
