Blessed Boast

"In God we boast all the day long, and praise Thy name forever" (Psalm 44:8).

There is a blessing we may claim
Throughout the whole day long:
We boast in God and praise His name
Forever in our song!

We neither praise what men applaud
Nor praise our own endeavor:
Our boast is in the living God;
We praise His name forever!

The name we praise is Jesus Christ,
The Lord of all creation,
The Lamb of God once sacrificed,
Our Captain of salvation!

What wondrous themes His names unfold
That call us to adore!
The glories heaven will unfold
Shall thrill us more and more!

O Lord, we would not waste the time
With boasting that is vain;
We glory in Your name sublime;
No other boast is sane!
