"The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: He maketh the devices of the people of none effect. The counsel of the LORD standeth forever, the thoughts of His heart to all generations" (Psalm 33:10,11).
The Lord brings the counsel of nations to nought
And makes their devices to have no effect,
But God has preserved His own counsel and thought
For all generations to teach and direct.
How great is our error when we set aside
The counsel of God that we have in His Word.
How rightly we turn to His counsel to guide,
Conforming our ways to His truth we have heard.
O Lord, we give thanks that the thoughts of Your heart
Are standing forever in all their perfection!
How right is the counsel Your Word will impart!
How needful we are of Your loving correction!
