Sacrificed to Sanctify

Read:  Psalm 126 / Proverbs 30 / Ezekiel 34 / Hebrews 10

Psalm 126:3 The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.

Proverbs 30:4-5 Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? …  who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell? … He is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Ezekiel 34:23-24 I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd… I the LORD have spoken it.

Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified.

How great are the things God has done

Who made earth with all of creation!

Descending to us as God’s Son,

He rescued us with His salvation.

Praise God for the Lord Jesus Christ,

Our Shepherd who willingly gave

Himself as the Lamb sacrificed

To sanctify those He would save!

Watchman's Warning

Read:  Psalm 125 / Proverbs 29 / Ezekiel 33 / Hebrews 9

Psalm 125:1 They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth forever.

Proverbs 29:25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

Ezekiel 33:7 I have set thee a watchman… therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Our safety is in Christ the Lord

Whose grace shall never be removed.

The fear of man should be ignored

Since every word of God is proved.

So, let the watchman testify

That all may hear and heed the warning.

It is appointed once to die,

And judgment then shall silence scorning.

Help from Heaven

Read:  Psalm 124 / Proverbs 28 / Ezekiel 32 / Hebrews 8

Psalm 124:2-8 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side… then the proud waters had gone over our soul… Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

Proverbs 28:26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.

Ezekiel 32:8 All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over thee, and set darkness upon thy land, saith the Lord.

Hebrews 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Our help comes from the Lord above

Who graciously was on our side.

We’re resting in the boundless love

Of Jesus Christ who for us died.

Though stars above shall pass away,

We’re trusting in our Savior’s name.

All we like sheep had gone astray,

But Christ our Help from heaven came!

Eyes on the End

Read:  Psalm 123 / Proverbs 27 / Ezekiel 31 / Hebrews 7

Psalm 123:1 Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.

Proverbs 27:11 My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that reproacheth me.

Ezekiel 31:10-11 Because thou hast lifted up thyself… I have driven him out for his wickedness… This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord GOD.

Hebrews 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

To God above I lift my eyes

Where He is ruling on His throne.

I hear Him call me to be wise

By pleasing Him, and Him alone.

I see the great destructive end

Of Pharaoh’s pride in his transgression.

I’m trusting Christ who will defend

The humble by His intercession.

Anchor Assured

Read:  Psalm 122 / Proverbs 26 / Ezekiel 30 / Hebrews 6

Psalm 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

Proverbs 26:27 Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.

Ezekiel 30:19 Thus will I execute judgments in Egypt: and they shall know that I am the LORD.

Hebrews 6:18-19 It was impossible for God to lie… which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil.

Jerusalem shall have her peace,

And for its hastening we pray.

Her enemies at last shall cease

To rage against her in that day.

By God Himself we are assured

That all these things shall be fulfilled.

We have the anchor of His Word;

Let every other voice be stilled.

Courageous Christ

Read:  Psalm 121 / Proverbs 25 / Ezekiel 29 / Hebrews 5

Psalm 121:2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

Proverbs 25:25 As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.

Ezekiel 29:21 I will give thee the opening of the mouth in the midst of them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

Hebrews 5:9,10 Being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

My help has come from Christ the Lord

Who made the heavens and the earth.

For me His soul has been outpoured

That I might have a second birth!

Now I declare the righteous name

Of Christ the Author of salvation.

My great courageous High Priest came

To rescue me from condemnation!

Poisoned by Pride

Read:  Psalm 120 / Proverbs 24 / Ezekiel 28 / Hebrews 4

Psalm 120:1,2 In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me. Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips.

Proverbs 24:14 So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

Ezekiel 28:16-17 O covering cherub… Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom.

Hebrews 4:16 Come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

I came to Christ by humble prayer;

He rescued me with His salvation.

I cast upon Him every care;

His truth secured my liberation.

Corruption enters by deceit

When hearts are poisoned by their pride,

But Satan hastens his retreat

When humble hearts to Christ have cried.

Hearts to Hear

Read:  Psalm 119:169-176 / Proverbs 23 / Ezekiel 27 / Heb. 3

Psalm 119:176 I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek thy servant; for I do not forget thy commandments.

Proverbs 23:26 My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.

Ezekiel 27:32 What city is like Tyrus…destroyed in… the sea?

Hebrews 3:7,8 Wherefore, as the Holy Ghost saith, Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness.

All we like sheep have gone astray,

As even now we’re prone to do.

Let’s give our hearts to God today

As His perfection fills our view.

The judgment day of God draws near,

But hardened hearts dismiss His warning.

Let’s pray for softened hearts to hear

The Gospel truth that fools are scorning.

Prophecies Preserved

Read:  Psalm 119:161-168 / Proverbs 22 / Ezekiel 26 / Heb. 2

Psalm 119:162 I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil.

Proverbs 22:12,21 The eyes of the LORD preserve knowledge… that thou mightest answer the words of truth.

Ezekiel 26:3 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Tyrus, and will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth his waves to come up.

Hebrews 2:1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

God’s Word is treasured as our prize

From Christ who was victorious.

The Lord is guarding with His eyes

His prophecies preserved for us.

When Tyrus saw the nations’ waves,

The Lord confirmed His prophecy.

We likewise see truth that saves

Is in His Gospel’s certainty.

Warns and Wins

Read:  Psalm 119:153-160 / Proverbs 21 / Ezekiel 25 / Heb. 1

Psalm 119:160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth forever.

Proverbs 21:30,31 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD… safety is of the LORD.

Ezekiel 25:15,17 Thus saith the Lord… they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.

Hebrews 1:3 When he had by himself purged our sins, [he] sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.

The Word of God is true forever,

As it was true from the beginning.

There is no wisdom nor endeavor

Against the Lord that can be winning.

The day shall come when Christ shall rule.

Till then, the Gospel truth is urged

That warns the unrepentant fool

And wins the souls that may be purged.

Promised Presence

Read:  Psalm 119:145-152 / Proverbs 20 / Ezek.24 / Philemon

Psalm 119:150,151 They draw nigh that follow after mischief … Thou art near, O LORD… all thy commandments are truth.

Proverbs 20:24 Man's goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?

Ezekiel 24:24 Ezekiel is unto you a sign… and when this cometh, ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

Philemon 25 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen. (Written from Rome… by Onesimus a servant).

Though foes on every side draw near,

The Lord is always near at hand.

He keeps my soul; why should I fear?

I see the blessings He has planned.

As He was with Ezekiel

And also with Onesimus,

His presence is with me as well;

This is His promise that I trust.

Judgment Cup of Jesus Christ

Read:  Psalm 119:137-144 / Proverbs 19 / Ezek.23 / Titus 3

Psalm 119:142 Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.

Proverbs 19:21 There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless, the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.

Ezekiel 23:28,31,32 Thus saith the Lord GOD… I give her cup into thine hand… deep and large: thou shalt be laughed to scorn and had in derision; it containeth much.

Titus 3:5-7 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us… being justified by his grace… according to the hope of eternal life.

The righteousness of God shall stand

Which He imputes to me by grace.

The cup of wrath in Jesus’ hand

Contained the judgment I should face.

It was by mercy that He drank

That cup of judgment deep and full.

O may I live my life to thank

And worship Christ who saved my soul!

Approach of His Appearing

Read:  Psalm 119:129-136 / Proverbs 18 / Ezek.22 / Titus 2

Psalm 119:133 Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.

Proverbs 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

Ezekiel 22:30 I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

Titus 2:11-13 The grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared… Live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ.

Let sin no more have its dominion,

For Christ extends His cleansing power.

We do not trust in man’s opinion;

The name of Christ is our strong tower.

The counsel of the Lord shall stand;

The day of His return is nearing.

Look up!  The time is now at hand

As we approach our Lord’s appearing!

Crown of Christ

Read:  Psalm 119:121-128 / Proverbs 17 / Ezekiel 21 / Titus 1

Psalm 119:126 It is time for thee, LORD, to work: for they have made void thy law.

Proverbs 17:4 A wicked doer giveth heed to false lips; and a liar giveth ear to a naughty tongue.

Ezekiel 21:26-27 Remove the diadem, and take off the crown… until He come whose right it is; and I will give it Him.

Titus 1:10-11 For there are many unruly and vain talker…  whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.

It’s time to work in the defense

Of Christ our risen Savior crowned.

It’s time to show the evidence

That God commands us to expound.

As we explore Jerusalem

Where Christ our Lord was sacrificed,

We see that heaven’s diadem

Now rightly crowns the risen Christ.
