Liars are Limited

Read:  Psalm 63 / Proverbs 31 / Judges 18 / Luke 4

Psalm 63:11 ~ The king shall rejoice in God... but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.

Proverbs 31:8 ~ Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

Judges 18:30 ~ The children of Dan set up the graven image... until the day of the captivity of the land.

Luke 4:4 ~ And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

The days for liars shall be few,

For God has limited their voice,

But those who speak His Word are true,

And they forever shall rejoice.

The time to speak the truth is now

To make the Gospel clearly heard

As long as God shall yet allow

Because we have His written Word.

Refuge Revealed

Read:  Psalm 62 / Proverbs 30 / Judges 17 / Luke 3

Psalm 62:8 ~ Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Proverbs 30:5 ~ Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Judges 17:6 ~ In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

Luke 3:7 ~ O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

Let hearts be earnestly outpoured

To God our Refuge and our Shield,

For many do not know the Lord

Who need to hear His truth revealed.

We live among a generation

That walks upon destruction’s path,

So let us publish God’s salvation

Whereby the lost may flee from wrath!

Elevation of our Expectation

Read:  Psalm 61 / Proverbs 29 / Judges 16 / Luke 2

Psalm 61:2 ~ When my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

Proverbs 29:25 ~ The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

Judges 16:30 ~ So the dead which he [Samson] slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.

Luke 2:11 ~ For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.

The Lord has led us by His grace

Up to the higher elevation

To see our Rock and Hiding Place

And view our joyful expectation.

For Christ was born to rescue us,

To fight the fight we could not win,

To rise again victorious,

To conquer death, and purge our sin.

Banner of His Blessing

Read:  Psalm 60 / Proverbs 28 / Judges 15 / Luke 1

Psalm 60:4 ~ Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.

Proverbs 28:5 ~ Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.

Judges 15:18 ~ Thou hast given this great deliverance into the hand of thy servant.

Luke 1:46-49~ Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior… For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.

The Lord has given us a banner

So that the truth may be displayed

To show His blessing and the manner

In which our ransom has been paid.

We are delivered by the hand

Of Jesus Christ our God and Savior.

All those who seek Him understand

The greatness of His saving favor.

Proclaim His Power

Read:  Psalm 59 / Proverbs 27 / Judges 14 / Mark 16

Psalm 59:16,17 ~ I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble. Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defense, and the God of my mercy.

Proverbs 27:12 ~ A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.

Judges 14:6 ~ The Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him [Sampson], and he rent him [the lion] as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand.

Mark 16:15,20 ~ He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature... And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

I sing of Christ, my mighty Tower,

My risen Lord, and strong Defense

As I proclaim His saving power

And follow Him with confidence.

The lion may be in the street,

The serpent may be poised to harm,

But since my Lord does not retreat,

I’ll follow Him without alarm.

Answer with Authority

Read:  Psalm 58 / Proverbs 26 / Judges 13 / Mark 15

Psalm 58:1 ~ Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?

Proverbs 26:5 ~ Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.

Judges 13:23 ~ If the LORD were pleased to kill us, he would not have received a burnt offering...showed us all these things.

Mark 15:12-14 ~ Pilate answered... What will ye then that I shall do unto... the King of the Jews? And they cried... Crucify him. Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done?

We give the answer Scripture gives

To fools who cloak hypocrisy:

The Christ who died forever lives!

His Word is our authority.

Our God has shown us many things

To answer those who have denied

The Lord of Lords, the King of kings,

Who for our sake was crucified.

Fixed and Faithful

Read:  Psalm 57 / Proverbs 25 / Judges 12 / Mark 14

Psalm 57:7 ~ My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

Proverbs 25:13,25 ~ A faithful messenger... refresheth the soul of his masters... so is good news from a far country.

Judges 12:3 ~ When I saw that ye delivered me not, I put my life in my hand... and the LORD delivered them into my hand.

Mark 14:8 ~ She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.

My heart is fixed that I may be

A faithful messenger for Christ

Who gave His life to ransom me

When He for me was sacrificed.

The Lord is faithful every day,

And though I falter, He is good.

So may I live that Christ may say

That I, by grace, did what I could.

Christ our Captain

Read:  Psalm 56 / Proverbs 24 / Judges 11 / Mark 13

Psalm 56:12,13 ~ I will render praises... Thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

Proverbs 24:15,16 ~ Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place: for a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again.

Judges 11:32 ~ So Jephthah passed over unto the children of Ammon to fight...and the LORD delivered them into his hands.

Mark 13:34 ~ The Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.

The Lord is with us as we walk

That we may live a life of praise

To glorify Him as we talk

Of all His wondrous works and ways.

The warfare we are called to fight

Against the lies of our contender

Shall be triumphant by the might

Of Christ our Captain and Defender.

Exploring our Expectation

Read:  Psalm 55 / Proverbs 23 / Judges 10 / Mark 12

Psalm 55:22 ~ Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Proverbs 23:18,26 ~ For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off... My son, give Me thine heart.

Judges 10:14 ~ Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation.

Mark 12:30 ~ Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

As we explore our expectation,

We see our future by God’s Word

That shows the end of our salvation

With blessings evermore assured.

The foolish who will turn away

Shall see their hope at last depart,

But we are called to seize the day

And love the Lord with all our heart.

Find our Faith

Read:  Psalm 54 / Proverbs 22 / Judges 9 / Mark 11

Psalm 54:4,7 ~ Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul... He hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.

Proverbs 22:20,21 ~ Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge, That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?

Judges 9:56,57 ~ God rendered the wickedness of Abimelech, which he did... and all the evil of the men of Shechem... and upon them came the curse of Jotham the son of Jerubbaal.

Mark 11:22 ~ Jesus... saith unto them, Have faith in God.

We find our faith in Christ our Lord

With His prophetic truth in view.

We have His Word, the Spirit's sword,

To demonstrate that He is true.

"Have faith in God," for He has spoken

With evidence to prove His case

That Scripture never shall be broken,

And He will guide us with His grace.

How Hopeless!

Read:  Psalm 53 / Proverbs 21 / Judges 8 / Mark 10

Psalm 53:2-3 ~ God looked down... upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God...  Every one of them is gone back... there is none... no, not one.

Proverbs 21:31 ~ The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.

Judges 8:23 ~ Gideon said... I will not rule over you, neither shall my son rule over you: the LORD shall rule over you.

Mark 10:45 ~ Even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

The Lord looked down upon our fall

To see if any sought the Lord.

There was not one; no, none at all!

How foolishly was God ignored!

How hopeless would our souls have been

If Christ was not our Hiding Place!

Thank God that He descended then

To ransom us with saving grace!

Faithful Few

Read:  Psalm 52 / Proverbs 20 / Judges 7 / Mark 9

Psalm 52:1 ~ Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.

Proverbs 20:24 ~ Man's goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?

Judges 7:7 ~ The LORD said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men... will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.

Mark 9:7 ~ There was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came... saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

Though evil is on every side,

God's goodness does not ever cease.

Though scorners rise up in their pride,

Our faithful Savior gives us peace.

The men with Gideon were few,

As thousands went back to their place.

Be still and hear what Christ will do

With those who lean upon His grace.

Go with the Gospel

Read:  Psalm 51 / Proverbs 19 / Judges 6 / Mark 8

Psalm 51:10,13 ~ Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me... Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

Proverbs 19:23 ~ The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied... shall not be visited with evil.

Judges 6:14 ~ And the LORD looked upon him [Gideon], and said, Go in this thy might... have not I sent thee?

Mark 8:35 ~ Whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.

The Lord shall cleanse me in His sight

To teach me what I ought to say,

As God says "Go in this thy might"

To speak while it is called today.

I have a stewardship within:

It is the Gospel that God gave

That rescues sinners from their sin

And shows them Christ alone can save!

Publish His Power

Read:  Psalm 50 / Proverbs 18 / Judges 5 / Mark 7

Psalm 50:15 Call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

Proverbs 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

Judges 5:2,13 Praise ye the LORD for... the LORD made me have dominion over the mighty.

Mark 7:36,37 A great deal they published it; and were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well.

The Lord has heard our earnest call;

He saved us with redeeming power.

His invitation is to ALL

To run to Christ, His mighty Tower.

We had no power of our own

To save our sinful souls from hell.

We publish that our Lord alone

Amazingly does all things well!
