Cherish the Choice

Read:  Psalm 2 / Proverbs 31 / Deuteronomy 15 / Rev. 9

Psalm 2:12 ~ Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Proverbs 31:8 ~ Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

Deuteronomy 15:15 ~ Thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman...  and the LORD thy God redeemed thee.

Revelation 9:6 ~ Men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

We cherish the choice that God gave

To worship the Son with a kiss,

Who laid down His own life to save

Our souls from the hopeless abyss.

We've chosen God's offer of grace,

And now we're proclaiming His favor.

Christ Jesus is our Hiding Place,

Our risen, victorious Savior!

Sanctified Silence

Read:  Psalm 1 / Proverbs 30 / Deuteronomy 14 / Rev. 8

Psalm 1:1,2 ~ Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.  But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Proverbs 30:5,32 ~ Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him... If thou... lifting up thyself... hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth.

Deuteronomy 14:2 ~ Thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God... a peculiar people... above all the nations.

Revelation 8:1,4 ~ There was silence in heaven... the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.

Let every thought be sanctified

By meditation on God's Word

To still the scornful voice of pride

And silence lies that we have heard.

We are a people set apart;

Our deepest thoughts to God are known.

Let heaven's silence stir our heart

To lift our prayers up to His throne.

Faith vs. Fear

Read:  Psalm 150 / Proverbs 29 / Deuteronomy 13 / Rev. 7

Psalm 150:1,2,6 ~ Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness...Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD.

Proverbs 29:25,26 ~ The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe. Many seek the ruler's favor; but every man's judgment cometh from the LORD.

Deuteronomy 13:4 ~ Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.

Revelation 7:9-12 ~ A great multitude... cried... Salvation to our God... and unto the Lamb... Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our God forever and ever. Amen.

I'll praise my Savior for His power

And for His triumph over death.

I need to trust Him every hour

As long as He shall give me breath.

The fear of man shall bring snare,

But faith in God gives confidence.

I’ll cast on Jesus Christ my care

And thank Him for His strong defense.

Souls may yet be Saved

Read:  Psalm 149 / Proverbs 28 / Deuteronomy 12 / Rev. 6

Psalm 149:5,6 ~ Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.  Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;

Proverbs 28:4 ~ They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.

Deuteronomy 12:2,3 ~ Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods...  and destroy the names of them out of that place.

Revelation 6:15-17 ~ The kings of the earth... and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; and said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: for the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Let us who worship Christ our Lord

Declare the glory of His name

As we extend the Spirit’s sword

To spread the Gospel we proclaim.

Let us beware of the seduction

Which would distract us on our path.

This world races to destruction,

But souls may yet be saved from wrath.

Worthy of Worship

Read:  Psalm 148 / Proverbs 27 / Deuteronomy 11 / Rev. 5

Psalm 148:12-13 ~ Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children: let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven.

Proverbs 27:23 ~ Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.

Deuteronomy 11:18,19 ~ Lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul... and ye shall teach them your children...  when thou sittest in thine house...  when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Revelation 5:12 ~ Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing.

How worthy of worship is Christ!

Declare it each day to our youth

And teach them, lest they be enticed

To turn from His mercy and truth.

The state of our flocks should be known

Regarding their grasp of salvation.

Our Lord and our Savior alone

Is worthy of their adoration.

Proverbs 26:2 ~ The curse causeless shall not come.

Deuteronomy 10:12,21 ~ And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul... He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen.

Revelation 4:11 ~ Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

The blessing no one can reverse

Came from our Savior and Defender!

To save us from the dreadful curse,

He set aside His throne and splendor.

He is our Praise and highest Pleasure,

Who has accomplished our salvation!

He is our Hero and our Treasure,

The awesome Lord of all creation!

His Promises Have Prevailed

Read:  Psalm 146 / Proverbs 25 / Deuteronomy 9 / Rev. 3

Psalm 146:3,5-6 ~ Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help...  Happy is he... whose hope is in the LORD his God: which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth forever.

Proverbs 25:14 ~ Whoso boasteth himself of a false gift is like clouds and wind without rain.

Deuteronomy 9:3 ~ Understand therefore this day, that the LORD thy God is he which goeth over before thee.

Revelation 3:8 ~ Behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

Put not your trust in mortal man

Who is like clouds that promise rain,

For often he will change his plan

And prove that trust in him was vain.

But God has faithfully prevailed:

He opens doors that none can close.

His promises have never failed,

As when for us He died and rose!

Remember and Repent

Read:  Psalm 145 / Proverbs 24 / Deuteronomy 8 / Rev. 2

Revelation 2:4,5 ~ Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works.

Let fainting faith be cast away

And confidence in Christ be full.

Why should I faint when I may pray

And trust His love unsearchable?

O let me not forget my Lord

Who for my sake was heaven sent!

Let first love daily be restored

As I remember and repent.

Who gives me sight replacing blindness,

And thereby is my soul restored

And lifted by His lovingkindness.

With all my heart, with all my soul,

And all my might I owe my love

To Christ whose love is wonderful,

Who sets my heart on things above.

Favor Found

Read:  Psalm 142 / Proverbs 21 / Deuteronomy 5 / 3 John

Psalm 142:3-5 ~ When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path... refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul. I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.

3 John 4,14 ~ I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth... I shall shortly see thee... face to face.

When I had pondered judgment’s wrath,

Before I sought and found the Savior,

The Lord who drew me knew my path,

To whom I cried for saving favor.

It was His love that drew me near

To find in Him my hiding place.

Before Him, shortly, I'll appear,

And I will thank Him face to face.
