The Spirit and the Scripture

Read:  Psalm 119:41-48 / Proverbs 30 / 2 Samuel 23 /Acts 20

Psalm 119:46 I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed.
Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
2 Samuel 23:1-2 David... the sweet psalmist... said, The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.
Acts 20:20-21 I kept back nothing... profitable unto you... repentance toward God... faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

We’re called to preach the truth of God
Which we are not ashamed to tell.
The gate is wide, the way is broad
That leads so many souls to hell.

The Spirit of the Lord has spoken,
And prophets wrote what they were told.
The Scripture never has been broken;
Its Gospel we should not withhold!

Content with Condemnation

Read:  Psalm 119:33-40 / Proverbs 29 / 2 Samuel 22 /Acts 19

Psalm 119:37 Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way.
Proverbs 29:9 If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.
2 Samuel 22:47 The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.
Acts 19:32 Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused.

Upon the Lord I'll fix my eyes
And turn away from vanity.
The fool refuses to be wise,
Contented with insanity.

For is it not insane, at best,
To cast away the Lord's salvation?
In spite of raging, there's no rest
For those content with condemnation.

Time to Talk

Read:  Psalm 119:25-32 / Proverbs 28 / 2 Samuel 21 /Acts 18

Psalm 119:27 Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.
Proverbs 28:5 Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.
2 Samuel 21:1,14 Then there was a famine...  and David inquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is for Saul... And after that God was entreated for the land.
Acts 18:9-10 Then spake the Lord to Paul... Be not afraid, but speak...hold not thy peace: for I am with thee...no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

It's time to talk about salvation
And show the works of God's own hand.
Though some make light of condemnation,
Those seeking Him will understand.

The Lord is speaking still today
To those who yet will hear His voice.
ALL we like sheep have gone astray,
But God extends to ALL a choice!
