Perfecting and Protecting

Read:  Psalm 138 / Proverbs 31 / Exodus 40 / 1 Corinthians 4

Psalm 138:7,8 Thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me. The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me.

Proverbs 31:2 What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?

Exodus 40:38 For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.

1 Corinthians 4:4 For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.

The Lord is perfecting us now

With goodness and mercy each day

As He is performing His vow,

Protecting us all of the way.

God led with a cloud and a fire

When guiding His own to their land,

And still He makes known His desire

That we may obey His command.

Gospel Songs we Gladly Sing

Read:  Psalm 137 / Proverbs 30 / Exodus 39 / 1 Corinthians 3

Psalm 137:4 How shall we sing the LORD'S song in a strange land?

Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Exodus 39:43 And Moses did look upon all the work, and, behold, they had done it as the LORD had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them.

1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

The Gospel songs we gladly sing

Amid this land where darkness looms

May shed the light that we can bring

To sinners marching to their tombs.

Let Gospel truth be understood

By every means that souls may hear it!

Our songs proclaim that God is good

As we are led forth by His Spirit.

We know Why

Read:  Psalm 136 / Proverbs 29 / Exodus 38 / 1 Corinthians 2

Psalm 136:1,23,24 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever… Who remembered us in our low estate… and hath redeemed us from our enemies.

Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Exodus 38:22 Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made all that the LORD commanded Moses.

1 Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Give thanks to God for His decision

To rescue us from sin and shame!

Now by His Word, He gives the vision

To see the reason Jesus came.

The patterns seen in Exodus

Portrayed our Savior sacrificed.

We know why Jesus died for us

Because we have the mind of Christ.

Memorial of His Mercy

Read:  Psalm 135 / Proverbs 28 / Exodus 37 / 1 Corinthians 1

Psalm 135:13 Thy name, O LORD, endureth forever; and thy memorial, O LORD, throughout all generations.

Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

Exodus 37:8 One cherub on the end on this side, and another cherub on the other end on that side: out of the mercy seat made he the cherubim on the two ends thereof.

1 Corinthians 1:30,31 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

We see the great memorial

Of mercy in our Lord’s salvation

Through types that were prophetical,

Displayed to every generation.

The mercy seat which we recall,

With cherubim on either side,

Portrayed redemption once for all,

Fulfilled when Christ our Savior died.

Science, Scripture, and Salvation

Read:  Psalm 134 / Proverbs 27 / Exodus 36 / Romans 16

Psalm 134:2,3 Lift up your hands… and bless the LORD.  The LORD that made heaven and earth bless thee out of Zion.

Proverbs 27:1 Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

Exodus 36:6 And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing.

Romans 16:25,26 The revelation of the mystery… was kept secret since the world began, but now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets… made known to all nations.

The time has come to bless the Lord

As we behold what He has made.

When Science rightly is explored,

We see His majesty displayed.

The time has come (for time is short)

For us to show the revelation

Of Jesus Christ as we report

The truth of Scripture and Salvation.

Priestly Plan

Read:  Psalm 133 / Proverbs 26 / Exodus 35 / Romans 15

Psalm 133:1-3 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment… that ran down upon… Aaron's beard… for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

Proverbs 26:2 As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.

Exodus 35:5,10 Take ye from among you an offering unto the LORD: whosoever is of a willing heart… every wise hearted…  shall come, and make all that the LORD hath commanded.

Romans 15:3 Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.

We see the Lord’s commanded blessing

Anointing Aaron’s priestly role.

The Lord, in type, was thus addressing

His priestly plan to save our soul.

The tabernacle thus portrays

Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He bore our curse!  To Him be praise

Who for our sake was sacrificed!

Rightful Rest

Read:  Psalm 132 / Proverbs 25 / Exodus 34 / Romans 14

Psalm 132:8,14 Arise, O LORD, into thy rest… This is my rest forever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.

Proverbs 25:6,7 Put not forth thyself in the presence of the king… better it is that it be said unto thee, Come up hither… in the presence of the prince whom thine eyes have seen.

Exodus 34:5,8 The LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD…  And Moses made haste, and bowed his head… and worshipped.

Romans 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

Let God arise into His rest

Exalted to His rightful throne

Within my heart as I attest

To all His tender mercies shown.

As Moses heard the Lord proclaim

His mercy and His majesty,

So let me glorify the name

Of Christ my King who ransomed me!

Worship vs. Worry

Read:  Psalm 131 / Proverbs 24 / Exodus 33 / Romans 13

Psalm 131:1 LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in… things too high for me.

Proverbs 24:14 So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul… thy expectation shall not be cut off.

Exodus 33:11 And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend.

Romans 13:12,14 Let us put on the armor of light… Put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh.

The things that are too high for me

Are not by worry remedied.

I will forsake anxiety

To worship God who meets my need.

As Moses with the Lord would speak

As to a dear and trusted Friend,

The Lord gives counsel to the meek,

And those who trust Him, He’ll defend.

Sensible about Salvation

Read:  Psalm 130 / Proverbs 23 / Exodus 32 / Romans 12

Psalm 130:3,4 If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.

Proverbs 23:17,18 Be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long. For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.

Exodus 32:32 Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin–… if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

The Lord removes each stain of sin

That we may stand before His face,

For when our Savior enters in,

Our sins are purged by truth and grace.

There is an end when all shall bow:

This is the promised expectation.

The time to trust in Christ is now.

Be sensible about salvation!

Cut the Cords

Read:  Psalm 129 / Proverbs 22 / Exodus 31 / Romans 11

Psalm 129:4 The LORD is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.

Proverbs 22:29 Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

Exodus 31:2-3 See, I have called by name Bezaleel… And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in… workmanship.

Romans 11:33,36 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!... For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory forever. Amen.

Let cords of sin be cut apart

As we arise with diligence

To serve the Lord with all our heart

Who gave Himself in our defense.

Let us arise victorious

To build the Church as Christ has planned.

The Lord is still instructing those

Who hear His voice and understand.

Faithful Fragrance

Read:  Psalm 128 / Proverbs 21 / Exodus 30 / Romans 10

Psalm 128:1,2 Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways… it shall be well with thee.

Proverbs 21:30,31 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD… safety is of the LORD.

Exodus 30:37 And as for the perfume which thou shalt make… it shall be unto thee holy for the LORD.

Romans 10:15 How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

When we are walking with the Lord

We know it shall be well with us.

His wisdom shall be our reward,

And we shall be victorious.

The fragrance of our faithful Savior

Shall make His great salvation known

As He is honored with behavior

Whereby His Gospel light is shown.

Strength and Shield

Read:  Psalm 127 / Proverbs 20 / Exodus 29 / Romans 9

Psalm 127:1 Except the LORD build the house, they labor in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

Proverbs 20:24 Man's goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?

Exodus 29:45 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God.

Romans 9:33 As it is written… whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

We spend our labor all in vain

To build or battle in the field

Unless the Lord in us shall reign

And lead us as our Strength and Shield.

The Lord has said that He will dwell

With all who call upon His name,

And with their souls it shall be well;

This is the Gospel we proclaim.

Gospel Garments

Read:  Psalm 126 / Proverbs 19 / Exodus 28 / Romans 8

Psalm 126:5,6 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves.

Proverbs 19:20 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.

Exodus 28:40 And for Aaron's sons thou shalt make coats…  for glory and for beauty.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

We sow in tears that we may reach

The precious souls who need our Savior.

The Lord has sent us forth to preach

The Gospel of His saving favor.

As Aaron’s sons were clothed with beauty,

We wear the garments of salvation

To serve our Lord with joyful duty,

With gratitude, and adoration.
