Comforts of Christ

Read:  Psalm 94 / Proverbs 31 / 1 Samuel 24 /John 11

Psalm 94:19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.
Proverbs 31:2-3 What, my son?... and what, the son of my vows? Give not thy strength... to that which destroyeth kings.
1 Samuel 24:15 The LORD therefore be judge... and plead my cause, and deliver me out of thine hand.
John 11:25 Jesus said... I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

The comforts of Christ now abound,
Though thoughts multiply and increase.
The blessings in Him I have found
Now calm my distress with His peace.

My Savior is pleading my cause
By showing the ransom He gave.
He died, satisfying God's laws;
He rose, and He lives now to save.

Needed Word vs. Noisy Waves

Read:  Psalm 93 / Proverbs 30 / 1 Samuel 23 /John 10

Psalm 93:4 The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.
Proverbs 30:4-5 Who hath bound the waters in a garment?...  Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
1 Samuel 23:14 Saul sought him every day, but God delivered him not into his hand.
John 10:27-28 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me... I give unto them eternal life...they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

There really is no competition
Between the Lord and noisy waves.
His Word delivers from perdition
With needed grace for those He saves.

Though Saul sought David every day,
He blindly did not understand
That God was guarding David's way,
And none could pluck him from God's hand.
