Supplication in the Sanctuary

"All ye servants of the LORD... Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the LORD.  The LORD that made heaven and earth bless thee" (Psalm 134:1-3).  "A prudent man foreseeth the evil... Train up a child in the way he should go" (Proverbs 22:3,6).  "Pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward Him for the life of thy young children" (Lamentations 2:19).  "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth" (3 John 4).

We come into the sanctuary,
As all around us there is strife,
To bless the Lord and also carry
Petitions for our children's life.

The evil that we have foreseen
Is now apparent, as expected.
We need the Lord to intervene
So that our young may be protected.

Our land has surely been invaded
By wickedness that is a threat
To children who may be persuaded
To turn from God whom they forget.

Lord, hear our urgent supplication
From sanctuaries in each heart
To guard our children through salvation
With truth from which they won't depart.
