Manner of Mercy

"I wait for the LORD... for with the LORD there is mercy, and with Him is plenteous redemption" (Psalm 130:5,7).  "The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe" (Proverbs 18:10).  "Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is His name" (Jeremiah 50:34).  "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us... Hereby perceive we the love of God, because He laid down His life for us" (1 John 3:1,16).

As we have searched our Savior's love,
We find redemption plenteous
Because He left His throne above
To give His life for all of us.

How great the mercy is of Christ,
Much greater than our hearts could dream!
For sinners He was sacrificed
To ransom those He would redeem.

The Lord of hosts is our strong Tower
Where we have found our Hiding Place.
We're trusting in His mighty power
And resting in His saving grace.

The manner of Your mercy, Lord,
Is greater than our tongue can tell!
No other love could thus afford
The price that rescued us from hell.
