Song of Saints

"How shall we sing the LORD'S song in a strange land?" (Psalm 137:4).  "As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country" (Proverbs 25:25).  "Turn Thou us unto Thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old" (Lamentations 5:21).  "Thou hast left thy first love.  Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works" (Revelation 2:4,5).

As good news from a country far,
We sing the Lord's song in our land.
It doesn't matter where we are;
What matters is our Lord's command.

The Gospel satisfies the thirst
Of souls that turn to Christ our Lord.
It blesses sinners who were cursed
With streams of mercy on them poured.

When we perceive our hearts our cold,
We need to pray with urgency
To be renewed, as days of old,
Revived with heaven's fervency!

As strangers here, Lord, we sojourn,
Yet sing the song of saints above
As we remember and return
To You, the Fountain of first love.
