Refusing to Repent

"Man is like to vanity... Whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood" (Psalm 144:4,8).  "Turn you at My reproof... I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out My hand, and no man regarded" (Proverbs 1:24).  "Destruction cometh; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none" (Ezekiel 7:25).  "And the rest of the men... repented not of the works of their hands" (Revelation 9:20). 

What falsehood and what vanity  

Is this in man who shakes his fist

At God with such insanity,

Pretending He does not exist?  

God stretches out His invitation,

Extending mercy with His hand,

Yet many still refuse salvation

Which God, by grace and truth, has planned. 

Destruction comes upon their path;

They'll look for peace and find it not, 

For rebels shall be met with wrath

When God reproves their futile thought.

O Lord, Your Spirit has been sent

Reproving hearts so they may turn.

May those refusing to repent

Obey Your Word which now they spurn.
