Salvation, Song, and Sword

"The LORD... will beautify the meek with salvation... Let them sing aloud... Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand" (Psalm 149:4-6).  "Thy Father's commandment... shall talk with thee" (Proverbs 6:20,22).  "I am the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass" (Ezekiel 12:25).  "They sung as it were a new song before the throne... having the everlasting gospel to preach" (Revelation 14:3,6).

The Lord will beautify the meek

With His salvation, song, and sword. 

He gives His Word that we may speak

And sing the praises of our Lord. 

The sword we hold now in our hand

Is God's authoritative Word

By which He gives us His command

To preach the Gospel we have heard.

We show the Word that God has spoken;

This is the sword that we shall wield. 

The Scriptures never shall be broken

Which God, by prophecy, revealed.

Lord, thank You for Your great salvation!

You fill our mouth with songs of praise,

And with Your sword of declaration

We preach the truth your Word displays.
