"O God of my righteousness... Thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety" (Psalm 4:1,8). "Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death" (Proverbs 11:4). "The marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife hath made herself ready... arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints" (Revelation 19:7,8).
Our readiness of righteousness
Is given by the Lord alone.
We hear the bride of Christ confess
This righteousness is not her own.
There is a coming day of wrath,
Yet Christ is now our Hiding Place,
Who gives us light upon our path
And righteousness with saving grace.
The righteousness of Jesus Christ
Has made us ready in His sight.
Because our Lord was sacrificed,
His blood has made our garments white.
Our readiness is found in You
With spotless righteousness, O Lord!
The marriage feast with joy we view
Where You alone shall be adored!
