Parting from the Perishing

"The LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish" (Psalm 1:6). "Whoso findeth Me findeth life, and shall obtain favor of the LORD. But he that sinneth against Me wrongeth his own soul" (Proverbs 8:35,36). "Thus saith the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations" (Ezekiel 14:6). "They repented not to give Him glory" (Revelation 16:9).

The Lord beholds the righteous way

Of all His own whom He will cherish,  

But all who choose to go astray

And will not turn, shall surely perish.

Abundant life in Christ is full,

In whom we find salvation's favor,

But all who hate Him wrong their soul,

And perish thus without a Savior. 

The Lord's commandment to repent

Has turned us from abomination.

His Gospel to the world is sent,  

Extending freely His salvation. 

O Lord, our souls are drawn to You,

As from the perishing we part.  

It is a blessing to pursue

And find the pleasure of Your heart!
