Pondering Perfection

“And [they] were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: He maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak” (Mark 7:37).

We ponder what Jesus has perfectly done
In order to save us from judgment and hell:
He fought for our souls on the cross and He won;
Christ Jesus our Savior has done all things well!

The four Gospel writers recounted the story
As those who observed Him and clearly could tell
The things that He did that revealed His glory,
Affirming that Jesus had done all things well.

He made the deaf hear and He made the dumb speak;
The demons departed whom He would expel.
The signs He performed were for those who would seek
And turn to the Lord who has done all things well.

He healed the sick and He raised up the dead;
The wind and the sea did as He would compel,
And thus He fulfilled what the prophets had said:
As Scripture foretold, He has done all things well.

He promised in three days He’d rise from the grave,
And guards were assigned where His body would dwell.
Praise God!  He is risen and lives now to save
The souls who will trust Him who does all things well!

O Lord, as we ponder with joy Your salvation,
Our hearts are astonished at how You excel
In wisdom and love far beyond expectation!
What can we say more?  You have done all things well!
