Loud Waves v. Lord's Will

"The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves. The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea" (Psalm 93:3-4). "And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem. Then Paul answered... I am ready... to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done" (Acts 21:12-14).

The will of the Lord should be done,
No matter what others may say!
All other persuasions now shun
That do not conform to His way.

The floods of the sea lift their voice
And crash with the sound of their waves.
We should not be moved by their noise:
The will of the Lord alone saves.

So whether the waves crash within
With thoughts that would rob us of peace,
Or troubles around us begin,
The will of the Lord should not cease.

O Lord, we would never be shaken
From all You would have us fulfill!
With waves of distraction forsaken,
Uphold us by grace in Your will.
