"The LORD God is a Sun and a Shield... no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly" (Psalm 84:11). "When a man's ways please the LORD, He maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him" (Proverbs 16:7). "Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself.... Now God had brought Daniel into favor and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs" (Daniel 1:8,9).
There is a principle we see
That demonstrates our Savior's power
And manifests His sovereignty
In every circumstance and hour.
When we have purposed in our life
In all our ways the Lord to please,
The Lord will guard us in the strife
Against our strongest enemies.
Our God extends His loving favor
As Lord of lords and King of kings
To all who live to please the Savior,
Who shelters us beneath His wings.
As Daniel purposed in his heart
That he to sin would never yield
Nor in defilement take part,
He found that God became His Shield.
O Lord, our times are in Your hand;
We need Your power everyday.
By Your protective love we stand,
As we have purposed to obey.
