"The LORD is our Defense" (Psalm 89:18). "Safety is of the LORD" (Proverbs 21:31). "The king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions. And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel... Is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions? Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live forever. My God hath sent His angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me" (Daniel 6:19-22).
In every trying situation
We know the Lord is our Defense.
He is our Safety and Salvation:
To trust in Him is just good sense!
Examples in God's Word abound,
And these are written for our good,
To find the faith that others found
And likewise trust Him as we should.
Consider Daniel in the den
Where lions could not do him harm,
For God had sent His angel then,
Extending His protective arm.
Is Daniel's God the God you serve?
Then You shall have his Refuge too,
For those who trust Him He'll preserve
And day by day their strength renew.
O Lord, we find in every season
That trusting You is always smart!
As Daniel trusted with good reason,
So may we too with all our heart!
