Clear Conscience

"He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. Happy is the man that feareth [the Lord] always, but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief" (Proverbs 28:13,14). "And herein do I exercise myself to have always a conscience void of offense toward God and toward men" (Acts 24:16).

There is a choice that we must make
To clear ourselves toward God and men:
Our sins confessed we must forsake,
And we shall have God's mercy then.

If this will be our exercise,
The Lord will give us confidence
With holy fear that sanctifies
And clears our conscience of offense.

Lord, thank You for the path You've shown
That leads to mercy guaranteed,
That calls us boldly to Your throne,
And grants the cleansing that we need.
