“Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil, but to the counselors of peace is joy” (Proverbs 12:20). “Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake.... and there was great joy in that city” (Acts 8:5-8).
The truest joy is found in Christ;
It springs eternal from within.
It calls us from this world enticed
By passing pleasures found in sin.
We preach the Gospel of His peace,
A peace that’s found in Christ alone.
He paid the price for our release;
We’re called to make His mercy known.
Like Philip, we are counselors
Who preach wherever God will lead,
Commissioned as ambassadors
And laborers with precious seed.
O Lord, we thank You for the joy
That flows in us and those we reach
And for the message we employ
Within the Gospel that we preach!
