Price to Pardon

"If Thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?  But there is forgiveness with Thee" (Psalm 130:3,4).  "He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed… the LORD hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all… He shall see of the travail of His soul, and shall be satisfied: by His knowledge shall my righteous Servant justify many; for He shall bear their iniquities… because He hath poured out His soul unto death " (Isaiah 53:5,11,12). 

There is forgiveness with the Lord,

But pardon surely had a price:    

Behold our Savior's soul outpoured

When He became our sacrifice! 

Our Lord was wounded and was bruised,

And thus was pardon's price revealed;

For us our Savior was abused,

And by His stripes we have been healed. 

The Lord has seen His soul's travail,

And thereby He is satisfied. 

Iniquities shall not prevail

Because He purged them when He died. 

O Lord, the price to pardon us,

Was more than we can comprehend, 

Yet You came forth victorious

And loved us to the very end!
