"There be many that say, Who will show us any good? LORD, lift Thou up the light of Thy countenance upon us… Thou hast put gladness in my heart… for Thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety" (Psalm 4:6-8). "As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country" (Proverbs 25:25). "Then the LORD said unto me, Proclaim all these words in the cities… and in the streets" (Jeremiah 11:6). "When the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth His Son… to redeem them that were under the law" (Galatians 4:4,5).
How good is the Gospel we preach
That shines everywhere it is sent
With light that will graciously reach
The sinners who truly repent.
All those who are willfully blind
Will not understand what Christ said.
They see not the light He has shined,
Preferring the darkness instead.
The good news is sent from above
Like waters which satisfy thirst,
Producing in us a new love
For God who has so loved us first.
O Lord, when the due time was full,
You came as You promised You would
To rescue and ransom our soul;
How truly Your Gospel is good!
