"In Thy sight shall no man living be justified" (Psalm 143:2). "A true witness delivereth souls… The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death" (Proverbs 14:25,32). "Tremble at His word… for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched" (Isaiah 66:5,24). "We then, as workers together with Him, beseech you… For He saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted and in the day of salvation… behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation" (2 Corinthians 6:1,2).
Let
careless sinners stand in awe
Before
the time when they have died,
For
no one by God's holy Law
Without
His grace is justified.
A
Gospel witness will deliver
The
souls who hear and will repent,
While
others, swept up like a river
By
death, to Christless graves are sent.
Alas,
their worm shall never die,
Nor
shall their fire be put out,
Because
they have preferred the lie
That
spurned the truth with baseless doubt.
O
Lord, as workers in Your field,
We
tremble at Your truth and grace,
Persuading
those who yet may yield
And
trust You as their Hiding Place.
