Yearend Yearning

"But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference. And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen" (Jude 20-25).

How gracious God has daily been
Throughout this passing year!
He answered prayers, time and again,
And made His counsel clear.

How precious was the truth He taught!
How needful His correction!
How great His comfort which we sought!
How perfect His direction!

And as the current year expires
To usher in the new,
We bring to God our hearts' desires
We prayerfully pursue:

Lord, build in us a faith that's strong,
More ready to obey,
And by Your Spirit led along,
Lord, teach us how to pray.

Lord, keep us always in Your love,
Expressing Your compassion
That brought salvation from above,
In humble, human fashion.

Lord, keep us yearning for the lost
To show them Your salvation,
While yet the gulf may still be crossed,
Escaping condemnation.

Now unto You eternally
And through these fleeting days,
Be glory, power, majesty,
And joyful, loving praise!
