"Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.... Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice... and shout for joy!" (Psalm 32:1,11). "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above.... Of His own will begat He us with the Word of truth" (James 1:17,18).
Be glad, rejoice, and shout for joy!
Let shallow thinking be reproved!
Let all within us now employ
Our songs of praise for sins removed!
Give thanks for every perfect gift
Which comes down from our Lord above
Through Christ who bore our sins to lift
Our souls from danger by His love.
No love like His was ever heard
Or ever seen upon the earth,
But we behold it in His Word
By which He gives us second birth.
We shouldn't think it too extreme
To shout for joy with heartfelt praise,
Since God was moved to thus redeem
And save us whom He yet will raise!
When we recall, Lord, what You've done
And yet will do without a doubt,
We find our thrill has just begun!
How can we help but sing and shout?
