"Death and life are in the power of the tongue" (Proverbs 18:21). "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear" (1 Peter 3:15).
The death and life of souls are in
The power of the tongue:
For by the word of God we win
The souls of old and young.
We reason with reality:
The truth is on our side!
It is the truth that makes us free,
As Christ has testified.
The Scriptures that we now behold
Are filled with evidence:
Consider prophecies foretold,
Fulfilled in their defense.
Consider too, the empty tomb,
In which our Lord had lain.
The evidence now leaves no room
For doubt now rendered vain.
O Lord, we thank You for Your Word,
Equipping us with reason
That validates the truth we've heard
In every place and season.
