Delightful Desire

"Delight thyself also in the LORD, and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart" (Psalm 37:4). "Jesus Christ, whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see Him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory" (1 Peter 1:3-8).

How great is the privilege to place our delight
In Jesus our Savior, beholding His grace.
We see Him by faith now, yet one day by sight,
When we shall behold then our Lord face to face.

How good is our Savior, beyond contemplation,
Who laid down His life as our judgment required.
In view of His love which provided salvation,
Our Lord far exceeds all our heart has desired!

O Lord, we rejoice as we ponder Your love
With joy inexpressibly full of Your glory,
And thus as we set our affections above,
Our cup overflows as we tell Your love story!
