Searching for the Savior

"It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.... As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country" (Proverbs 25:2,25). "Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, Where is He that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the east, and are come to worship Him" (Matthew 2:1,2).

The glory of God will conceal a thing:
That we may called out to search for His treasure
To show us the honor afforded a king:
The riches of grace in the Lord's fullest measure.

As cold waters offered to satisfy thirst
To souls that are longing for God's perfect peace,
The Lord draws our souls out to come to Him first
To find satisfaction that never will cease.

O Lord, we have found out, as wise men of old,
The mercies discovered in Jesus our Savior.
The half of His glories have never been told!
We're searching His Gift of unsearchable favor.
