"Lift up your heads, O ye gates, and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors, and the King of glory shall come in" (Psalm 24:7). "Trust in the LORD with all Thine heart.... He blesseth the habitation of the just.... He giveth grace to the lowly" (Proverbs 3:5,33,34). "Behold, I stand at the door and knock" (Revelation 3:20).
The door for Christ who came to earth,
Which ancient prophets saw afar,
Was opened through His humble birth,
Announced by Scripture and His star.
The doors of earth not opened now
Shall open when the King comes in,
And every knee shall surely bow
To Him who washed us from our sin!
The doors at which our Lord will knock
Are found at every heart today.
Though many in these days will mock,
He enters those who humbly pray.
O Lord, we thank You that You came
To make our hearts Your habitation.
Now come, exalt in us Your name;
Enlarge our hearts with Your salvation.
