Solace in the Sanctuary

"I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I... Thou shalt guide me with Thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory" (Psalm 73:17-24).  "Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end" (Proverbs 19:20).  "The day of the LORD is near... and the kingdom shall be the LORD'S" (Obadiah 1:15,21).  "For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in Me... for the things concerning Me have an end" (Luke 22:37).

There is a solace we may find
Within the quiet sanctuary
To calm the heart, the soul, and mind
With grace God gives as necessary.

This sanctuary God has shown
Is accessed in the time of prayer
As He has called us to His throne
To cast upon Him all our care.

The counsel there that God will give
With grace to help in time of need
Equips us with the strength to live
And truth that makes us free indeed.

We find now in Your presence, Lord,
The sanctuary You extend
With solace that Your words afford
To give us wisdom in the end.
