Refuge for the Rebel

"Thou hast ascended on high... Thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them... He that is our God is the God of salvation" (Psalm 68:18,20).  "In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and His children shall have a place of refuge" (Proverbs 14:26).  "Seek ye Me, and ye shall live" (Amos 5:4).  "As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of Man" (Luke 17:26).

Our Lord ascended up on high
Receiving gifts of saving favor
For men who otherwise would die
As rebels lost without a Savior.

There is no other refuge found
Where rebels may have confidence.
In Christ alone does grace abound
To every sinner who repents.

The rebel who will seek the Lord
And turn to Jesus Christ shall live.
He is our Refuge and Reward.
What greater comfort could He give?

O Lord, as days are growing dark,
There is one Refuge that is true.
As Noah rested in the ark,
The rebel's Hiding Place is You.
