Observing and Obeying

"I will meditate also of all Thy work, and talk of Thy doings... Thou art the God that doest wonders: Thou hast declared Thy strength among the people" (Psalm 77:12,14).  "My son, give Me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe My ways" (Proverbs 23:26).  "Then said the LORD, Doest thou well to be angry ?" (Jonah 4:4).  "Whatsoever He saith unto you, do it" (John 2:5).

As we observe what God has done,
What He is doing, and shall do,
We see the race we're called to run
With strength He daily will renew.

How gracious is His invitation
From which we never should depart,
As God, the Author of salvation,
Has said, "My son, give Me thine heart."

Be done with anger and with fretting,
Since God commands us thus to cease.
Put off the sins that are besetting
And robbing us of perfect peace.

O Lord, whatever You are saying,
Above all else, we need to hear,
So by observing and obeying,
We'll make Your great salvation clear.
