Merciful Meditation

Read:  Psalm 119:9-16 / Proverbs 18 / Isaiah 66 / Acts 2

Psalm 119:11,15 ~ Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee… I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.

Proverbs 18:1 ~ Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.

Isaiah 66:2 ~ But to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

Acts 2:12,37 ~ And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?... Now when they heard this, they… said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

How merciful is meditation

Upon God’s Word, His Spirit’s sword,

Whereby we find our separation

From things offensive to our Lord.

To those who tremble, God will look,

And He will show them what is true.

He shall instruct them by His Book

To wisely know what they should do.
