Wasted Words

Read:  Psalm 12 / Proverbs 18 / Isaiah 22 /John 11

Psalm 12:6-7 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation forever.
Proverbs 18:9 He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.
Isaiah 22:1 The burden of the valley of vision. What aileth thee now, that thou art wholly gone up to the housetops?
John 11:9-10 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world. But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.

The words of God that we have tasted
Are purified, preserved, and clear,
But they are treasures that are wasted
If we don’t heed the truth we hear.

The burden of the valley’s vision
Should stir our hearts with motivation
To plead with souls for a decision
To trust the Lord of our salvation.
