Tell of the Tower

“And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him… The LORD is my…  High Tower, and my Refuge, my Savior” (2 Samuel 22:1-3).  “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe… Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:10,21).

Tell of the Tower we have in our Savior:
He is our Refuge where we safely dwell.
Sinners, made righteous by His gracious favor,
Have run there to safety from judgment and hell.

Tell of the Tower as David once did,
Who wrote in the words of his song of this Tower.
Why should the Gospel be silently hid,
When God has equipped us with words that have power?

O Lord, our High Tower, we find in Your name
Our Shelter from wrath and eternity’s loss,
For You took our sorrows, our sin, and our shame,
Declaring us righteous by way of Your cross.
