Forsaking the Falsehood

"There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless, the counsel of the LORD shall stand.... Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge" (Proverbs 19:21,27). "O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called" (1 Timothy 6:20).

So many devices in man's wicked heart
Imagine a counsel that contradicts God's.
From all such instruction, we're called to depart,
Forsaking the counsel this world applauds.

Such "science" so called, we are called to resist,
Which argues against what the Lord says is true.
It starts with presuming that God is not there,
And that false assumption perverts all they do.

Praise God for the anchor of truth in His Word,
Defining true science with counsel that stands!
The godless assumptions of men are absurd,
Refusing to see the design of God's hands!

O Lord, we are thankful for all You have shown,
Which we are committed to teach to our youth.
So grant us the wisdom to make Your truth known,
That they may discern between falsehood and truth.
