"In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?" (Psalm 11:1). "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7).
Now flee as a bird to your mountain, we hear
From those whose alarming perspective is flawed.
Yet we were not given the spirit of fear,
But power, and love, and a sound mind from God.
To all who have told us to flee as a bird,
We ought to inform them their efforts will fail.
For we have the promise of Christ in His Word
That hell and its armies shall never prevail.
O Lord, we give thanks for the boldness we find
When led by Your Spirit with deeper surrender,
With power, with love, and with soundness of mind,
Since You are our Savior, our Lord, and Defender!
