Settled on the Son

"The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against His Anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall... have them in derision. Then shall He speak unto them in His wrath... Yet have I set My King on My holy hill of Zion.... Be wise now therefore.... Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and ye perish in the way when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him" (Psalm 2:2-12).

There's only one important vote
When all is said and done.
The Lord has spoken, and we note:
He's settled on the Son.

The kings of earth make their decision
Against the Father's voice.
The Lord shall have them in derision;
They shall lament their choice.

The kings of earth may cast away
The Gospel and its cords.
How foolishly they go astray
From grace that God affords!

Be wise, therefore, the Spirit warns,
While yet there is a path
To turn from foolishness that scorns
God's coming day of wrath!

Though many choose to still despise
The warning of God's Spirit,
The Gospel yet will make them wise,
If they will humbly hear it.

We kiss the Son once sacrificed,
And preach Him unashamed!
We lift Your name, Lord Jesus Christ,
Above all others named!
