"Ye are in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: that, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 1:30,31).
Glorious Giver! How great is His love
That gave us salvation in Christ!
All of the riches in heaven above
Without Him would not have sufficed!
We needed wisdom, for we were not wise,
And God made us wise in His Son.
We needed righteousness, since in God's eyes,
Without Him we surely had none!
We needed sanctification as well
To set us apart for the Lord.
We needed also redemption from hell,
Which only His grace could afford!
How great are the gifts, gracious Lord, that You gave!
How precious indeed was their cost,
For only by Jesus our Lord could You save
And give all these gifts to the lost!
