Hearing the Humble

"LORD, Thou hast heard the desire of the humble: Thou wilt prepare their heart, Thou wilt cause Thine ear to hear" (Psalm 10:17).

Lord, even before their words have been spoken,
You hear the desire of hearts that are humble.
You hear with compassion the heart that is broken;
You hear as they call out to You when they stumble.

Lord, upon You we can cast every care;
This is the promise of Your invitation.
Touched by our weakness and moved by our prayer,
You hear and You heal with Your consolation.

Lord, we give thanks for the mercy You've shown,
Preparing our hearts to respond to Your love.
But for Your mercy, we would not have known
The love of our Savior who came from above.
