Terms of Time

"For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall enlargement and deliverance arise... from another place... and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" (Esther 4:14). "Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the Gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!" (Romans 10:13-15).

Our life and opportunities
Are framed in terms of time
That we must circumspectly seize,
Or waste what is sublime.

Is this a time to hold our peace
While many need to hear
The Gospel that we should not cease
To preach, both far and near?

The terms of time and energy
Are wasted if we miss
Their purpose for eternity
For such a time as this.

It is a time to preach God's Word,
That sinners may repent,
And bring good tidings we have heard
Wherever we are sent.

Lord, teach us by Your Spirit how
To use the grace You give
In terms of time that we call now,
Each moment that we live.
