Sparse Space

"And now for a little space, grace hath been showed from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in His holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage" (Ezra 9:8).

Our God has now permitted space,
A little opportunity,
Extending to His people grace
To exercise it prudently.

A little space now has arrived,
A little window that God gave,
That we by grace may be revived
To show that Jesus Christ will save.

We know the window soon will close
To use this grace that we receive
To preach of Christ who died and rose
And lives to save all who believe.

So grant us wisdom, Lord, to live,
Redeeming time, while yet we may,
To use the grace You freely give
Within this moment called "today."
