Bold to Build

"The God of heaven, He will prosper us; therefore we His servants will arise and build" (Nehemiah 2:20). "Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.... In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and His children shall have a place of refuge" (Proverbs 14:1,26).

The God of heaven calls His own
To build with His instruction.
The only other option shown
Is self-imposed destruction.

It's option one or option two;
There is no option three.
We either build each day anew
Or tear down foolishly.

We're called to build with confidence
As unto God alone.
He is our Refuge and Defense,
The God of heaven's throne.

So let us now be bold to build
While it is called today,
That we may see our work fulfilled
Before we pass away.

O help us, Lord, and make us wise
To build as You command,
So when the storms of life arise,
Our work for You will stand.
